Parken Zoo is one of Sweden’s first “people’s parks” (Swedish folkpark) and dates back to 1898. Since the early 1950s, the park has been transformed into a zoo with exotic animals such as amur leopard, Persian lion and pygmy hippopotamus and a yearly turnover of some 60m kronor.
Parken Zoo has been sold to Tropicarium AB. The seller was Mimir Invest AB, a global investment firm, which has owned and managed the zoo since 2016. Tropicarium AB operates a reptile house and one of Sweden’s largest aquariums with a shark tunnel, situated next to Kolmården Wildlife Park.
The buyer was represented by Advokatfirman CARTHIEL AB through Daniel Thiel and Johanna Axelsson.
